During my NYSC, I took my orientation course in Sagamu camp and subsequently served in Ogun State. So, I will be sharing my first-hand experience with you and I will also add experiences from ex-corp members to enable you to get the right information you desire about the camp. We are going to X-ray the NYSC orientation camp, Sagamu, from different perspectives, ranging from their infrastructure, social life, welfare, etc.
Infrastructure in NYSC Orientation Camp Sagamu
In the NYSC orientation camp, Sagamu, there are lots of good structures that accommodate corps members and give them comfort. Although these buildings and other related infrastructure are not modern, they still have good qualities. The bedding (bunk) in this camp is also good.
Apart from buildings, the camp also has social amenities like light, water, etc. that make life enjoyable during the 21-day orientation course.

During my 21-day orientation course in NYSC Orientation Camp Sagamu, I enjoyed it daily due to lots of social activities that were designed for us. They lined up different social events in the camp, like social night, inter platoon dance, drama, comedy, inter platoon volleyball competition, inter platoon football competition, Mr. Mancho, and to cap it all, there was a beauty and bold contest (check out this link).
The social life made my camping memorable. These social activities are usually lively and they give corps members the opportunity to interact with others from different cultural and religious backgrounds.

Welfare of Corp Members in NYSC Orientation Camp Sagamu
When it comes to corps members welfare in NYSC Orientation Camp Sagamu, the staff that work in the camp are usually up and doing to ensure that they take very good care of all the corps members posted to the camp.
There are excellent standby medical services for those that may need them. In terms of feeding, they feed corps members three times daily with different ratios, and the food often contains six classes of food in the right proportion.
In addition, there are some days that they may even allow corps members from different platoons to cook and serve food to other corps members. So, the welfare of Corp members is always top notch in NYSC orientation camp Sagamu.
Security of Corp Members in NYSC Orientation Camp Sagamu
In NYSC orientation camp Sagamu, the security of corps members is always top priority. During my 21-day camping period, there was no security issue, which is a testament to the premium security architecture and network in this camp.
There is always a heavy presence of military and paramilitary personnel in this camp within the orientation course. Sometimes, these security personnel may train Corp members during the Man O’War drill to keep them fit and strong. In fact, some of the activities in the camp, like conducting match-pass training, are done by the military personnel.

Ogun State NYSC Camp Hostel
The Ogun State NYSC camp hostel is good and it is equipped with good bedding that will give comfort to corps members posted to the camp. There are both male and female hostels in the camp. The hostel has constant electricity with regular power supply. So for the three weeks that you are going to spend in the camp. You are definitely going to enjoy this hostel.
