HOW TO FIND OLD FACEBOOK POSTS WITHOUT SCROLLING
If you are among those wishing there was some way to search through and find old Facebook posts, fear not, disgruntled Facebook user, Facebook has made it possible.
To the right of the search field at the top of the app or website, you can select whether you want to search and find old Facebook posts, people, and photos, among other options. Enter a search term you remember from the post (like “funny dog”) and it’ll pull up related results. You can also search without specifying what kind of result you’re looking for, and posts will be listed at the bottom of search results with a magnifying glass icon to the left.
A few notes: Results aren’t displayed in chronological order, so you may have to scroll to find the post you were looking for. And using fewer words (just keywords) will likely provide better results than a more specific, longer query.
This new Graph Search capability to find old Facebook posts is available to all users. When you’ve got it, you’ll get a message below the search field alerting you to the ability to search through posts.
Facebook also recently added a Save feature which saves links for later. This is exclusive to posts with a link and it’s no good if you’re searching for something posted a few years back. But if you’re looking for an old link you don’t want to forget about, you could use search to find it, and then Save so it’s conveniently stored for later visits.
Today I’m going to be showing you how to use the Facebook search feature to find old Facebook posts or picture that was published recently or in the past.
Using the Facebook search feature is quick and easy to find old Facebook posts if you can remember a keyword that was used in the post you want to find!
I’ll be showing you how to do this from the desktop version of Facebook. First, you want to go to the search bar at the top of the page and you can use this to search and find old Facebook posts.
For example, if I want to find a picture of my mom for Mother’s Day, I would just go to the search bar and type in ‘Mother’s Day’.
When you first type in mother’s Day and click on search, it will automatically show you posts by anyone. This is going to be pages, public posts, or people you don’t know.
To find old Facebook posts that you published, simply go to the filter results on the left side, and under the section marked ‘Posts From’, you can select ‘You’. This will filter your search results to only show posts that you published that contain the keywords that you searched for.
Now you can see that I’m able to view every post that I made about Mother’s Day, and sure enough, I have easily found a picture of my mom.

Another cool way to use the Facebook search feature is when you want to find old Facebook posts from one of your friends.
For example, maybe there was a post the other day about a friend who posted about the Disneyland Fast Pass and you want to find old Facebook posts because it had really good information on it.
You would again use the search bar to type in ‘Disneyland Fast Pass’ and then using the filter options on the left of the screen, you can select it to sort by ‘Friends and Groups’.

Similarly, if you want to search for a specific friend or group, you can open the ‘Choose a Source’ option below Friends and Groups, and type in on of your friends’ names so you can view what they said about the post you’re searching for.
Using the Facebook search feature is very easy and a fast way to find exactly what you’re looking for – whether its posts, images, videos, or anything else that has been published on Facebook!
