How to Cancel NELFUND Student Loan

If you want to cancel all or parts of your NELFUND student loan, there are procedures that you will need to follow to do that. However, you can only cancel the loan if it hasn’t been disbursed to you; once you receive the loan, you won’t be able to cancel it again.

You can cancel the NELFUND loan by submitting a loan cancellation letter to the NELFUND portal by raising a ticket within the dashboard. On the other hand, you can also cancel your loan by going to the financial aid department within your institution and requesting loan cancellation. Once you do that before the loan disbursement, they will help you initiate the loan cancellation process.

What is NELFUND Student Loan?

A NELFUND student loan is an interest-free loan that the Nigerian government gives out to qualified students studying in different higher institutions across the country. This loan is designed to reduce the financial burden on students who are finding it difficult to pay their school fees. Students who benefit from this loan are expected to repay it after completing their NYSC program. The repayment plan is flexible and the benefiting students are only required to repay once they secure a job after their NYSC program.
