can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook

Can WhatsApp be connected to Facebook?

If you are confused with the question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?” then your answer is here…

Step 1: Setup WhatsApp for Business

The first thing you need to do if you want to get the answer to your question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?” is to set up a business profile on WhatsApp Android smartphone. This can be done through their business app. The reason I say Android only is because this app is only available for this particular operating system for now. Why a separate app, you ask? This app will enable you to answer the question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?” and the app will also provide valuable insights about messages sent, received, read and responded to, helping you judge and reassess your communication strategy with your customers through this app.

Step 2: Add your WhatsApp number to your Facebook page

Visit your page settings and in the WhatsApp tab, add your number and after a confirmation process, your number will be added to your page.

Just in case you don’t see a WhatsApp tab, try contacting your page admin to see if the tab isn’t visible to you due to page permission. This will answer your question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?”If it still doesn’t work, read our guide on how to create WhatsApp ads if you don’t have the Business app.

Although, there’s one catch: Facebook doesn’t add your number to your “About section” unless it’s verified by them. But, I’ve got a hack for that as well!

Step 3: Run a Click-to-WhatsApp ad

One thing you need to know while running these kinds of ads is that you can’t add a WhatsApp button in your ad on Ad Manager. Instead, you can run these ads through the Boost Post/Promotions option available on your page.

To add WhatsApp as a CTA, select Post Engagement as your objective and choose ‘Send WhatsApp Message’ as your button and you’re done!

This will automatically update your post and add a Send Message button with a WhatsApp icon on your post. With this, your question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?” is answered.

This can also work as a hack, as mentioned above, and it automatically ads the WhatsApp number to your “About section”, which will then show your number along with a WhatsApp icon.

Don’t have WhatsApp for Business?

If you use your personal number as your brand’s WhatsApp or don’t want to go through the hassle of creating a separate business profile on this app, you can still reroute your customer to start a WhatsApp conversation with you.

If you use Ad Manager, you’ll be aware of the Learn More button which lets you add a website URL in your ads.

This way, you can easily add your WhatsApp chat URL in your ad and let customers connect to you either on WhatsApp web or through the WhatsApp app on their smartphone. Thereby, making it easier for your question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?” to be a forgotten issue. To create your chat link, use the following URL: https://wa.me/<number> where the <number> is a full phone number in the international format, omitting any zeroes, brackets or dashes, like this: https://wa.me/923321234567.

This can work on canvas based creatives or even website click ads, and can help you experiment on whether or not adding a separate WhatsApp number is actually worth it or not.

Easy, isn’t it? And it’s convenient as well and helps you build a better connection with your customers. I hope this guide answered your question of, “can Whatsapp be connected to Facebook?”
